ToF 1 : Superheroes

Twins of Faith might be the first Islamic Family festival we have here in Malaysia, since Malaysian's definition of festival or carnival is what you see in jomheboh and sureheboh (frankly speaking)
This is not just a mere festival where people might expect that there would be only booths and entertainment. oh bukan bukan. The best among all is the knowledge from the lectures given by various masyaikhs.

When I mention knowledge, there's this creepy feeling of responsibility that I have to put on with. Ilm without 'amal is nothing! That's why I'm sharing it here and hope that it will benefit me and others in any way.

And I'm being optimistic that this will be the beginning of future festivals of such.

Hm, not going to detail out everything now, might do so in future posts, insyaAllah, if time permits.
Well, to begin with. I will always remember Sh Alaa's lecture on Exemplary Women of the Past. He said, "Some might not want to look at the past and want to move on. But we have those who we can look up to." Lebih kurang gini.

We have Rasulullah's (saw) wives and sahabiah for us to take examples from.
"You (the sisters in the hall) are the daughters of Khadijah r.a, Fatimah r.a, Aisyah r.a and many others!"

The westerns tried so hard to CREATE their own version of superheroes. Dah la tak real. And kite follow pulak. Rugi beb rugi. They tried so hard to portray the female superheroes as someone who has superpowers which we all know whatever they had shown us was a total lie. And as Muslims, we believed in that? It is even more heartbreaking to see the young ones wearing t-shirts with Marvel Comics superheroes on them. This is somehow to teach them that they should imitate what they see and bring those superheroes along with them in everywhere they go. Sometimes, paling sedih bila ade budak kecik buat gaya keluarkan web dari tangan tu..
-_-'

Some of us might say they are too far from us for us to take example from. But those people are real life examples dear ukhti. They're real! The strength on how they cope with problems, loss of life of their husbands and sons and also other family members. There is so much to take from. Even though the trials might not be the same, but at least they taught us on how to cope and turn to Allah with our own not-so-big-problems such as sold out bus tickets. ;)

The problems might be a major one or a minor, but take examples from them. Let us learn from the seerah and take note on how they cope with difficulties, which they actually perceived as blessings, by not feeling despair over things that still can be improved. It's not the end of the world, yet.

The sahabahs are the ones who turn to Allah in every circumstances, so do we. We have to do the same. It's time that we learn to turn to Allah and not to others..

Because it's to HIM we shall return..

Wallahu'alam..

p/s: one thing about fictional superheroes was that they don't seek death as their ultimate goal. They're afraid of death because death signifies the end of everything. But to the sahabahs, death is their ultimate goal. They knew that death enables them to meet The One who gave them the strength to fight in those battles. :') *blown away*

p/s: let's learn from the 10 mubasyirin jannah (those who were guaranteed jannah). ^_^
